Erie will combine water, sewer and garbage billing in January
Erie residents and businesses will receive a combined utility bill starting January 1, 2027. A separate garbage-penalty waiver runs through December 31.
Erie is changing how customers receive charges for water, sewer and garbage. A combined bill will replace the separate bills on January 1, 2027, the city and Erie Water Works announced October 8, according to Erie News Now.
The announcement also describes a one-time garbage-bill amnesty through December 31: customers who pay their remaining overdue balance in full can have the related penalties waived. Erie Water Works customer service can answer balance questions at 814-870-8000, extension 71.
